Want to plan the perfect afternoon at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park? Start here!
The Boston Mill Visitor Center is the National Park’s first centralized location where park visitors can orient themselves, discover what the park has to offer, and begin their CVNP experience. In true Northeast Ohio fashion, several community partners came together over the last decade to bring this place to life. In honor of the visitor center’s third anniversary serving new and returning park visitors, I’m sharing four reasons why you should consider starting your visit to the park at the Boston Mill Visitor Center.
1. Get oriented.
Whether you’re hiking, biking, riding, or kayaking, the staff at the visitor center can help you get oriented, answer questions, provide maps, and so much more. Park Rangers are informative and knowledgeable and will help you get exactly where you want to go.
2. Start your visit or stay a while!
You can start your visit at the Boston Mill Visitor Center by checking in with the staff and getting some more information about your trail, or you can spend your entire visit at the visitor center. Be sure to check out the 3D tactile tabletop model of the valley in the middle of the room, explore the activities for kids, and read up on the history. Don’t forget to leave your special memory on the memories wall!
3. Pick up a gift for a CVNP enthusiast.
From t-shirts, games, and even socks, the gift shop features merchandise and souvenirs for all ages. Have a park enthusiast on your holiday list? Stop by and pick up the perfect gift!
4. Take a break and enjoy the views any time of year.
The Boston Mill Visitor Center is located in Peninsula with breathtaking views of the Cuyahoga Valley. Take a seat on a bench outside and enjoy the beautiful views, fresh air, and sounds of the Cuyahoga River any time of year.
