Native Plants: Restoring Backyard Habitat. A Low Power Happy Hour Event.
September 6, 2023 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Event Navigation
Join us Sept. 6 for a conversation with Native Roots, Inc., & Summit Metro Parks regarding restoring backyard habitat.
Native Roots, Inc., will share some of the big initiatives regarding backyard habitat restoration and provide general guidelines on how to join the movement – including invasive plant identification, native plant selection, and site preparation options.
In addition, Rob Curtis, supervisor of ecological resources, for Summit Metro Parks will highlight some of the main causes of biodiversity loss and what we can do to support biodiversity. Also, will review what is and is not, “native,” and how the Wild Back Yards initiative works.
If you would like more specific instruction on what plants would be good for your landscape – bring information about your yard conditions (Sun / Moisture) and walk away with a plant list!
Unplugged music provided by Anthony Taddeo, drummer, composer and bandleader.
