Writing About Nature

Immerse yourself in the beauty of Cuyahoga Valley National Park and find inspiration to write by reading and discussing poetry, essays and fiction about nature and the environment. Three interactive sessions will include plenty of craft tips, reading selections, and opportunities to hone your own craft and receive feedback. Participants will spend some time outside. Open to writers of all levels.

This course consists of three sessions from 6:30pm – 8:30pm on the following dates:

  • Oct. 10
  • Oct. 17
  • Oct. 24

Registration fees are inclusive of all three sessions:

About the Instructor
Lee Chilcote is an award-winning writer and author whose work has been published in The Washington Post, The Associated Press, Vanity Fair, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Cleveland Magazine and many others. His poetry chapbooks are The Shape of Home and How to Live in Ruins. He is a founder and past executive director of Literary Cleveland, an organization with a mission of “developing writers, amplifying voices, and transforming our community through storytelling.” He lives in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood of Cleveland with his family.
